Nate Chavious ran for 293 yards and four touchdowns, including scoring runs of 20 and 3 yards in the third quarter as Bellport overcame a three-score deficit for a 56-36 win Saturday over Harborfields in Suffolk III.
Chavious tied the score at 20 with a 47-yard TD run with 1:29 left in the first half. Harborfields (1-4) regained the lead, 23-20, on a 17-yard field goal by Tyler Phillips. But Nick Fountis connected with Nick Constantino on a 30-yard TD pass to give Bellport (3-2) a 28-23 lead. Chavious added two more rushing TDs and Alex Vargas added a 28-yard scoring run and a 75-yard kickoff return to seal it for Bellport.
Connor Cipp and Conor Haverty had 15 tackles each for Bellport. Dylan Piscitelli had a 20-yard TD run for Harborfields in the first and Andrew Widmer found Chris Tirrito for a 52-yard TD pass early in the second to put Harborfields ahead 20-0.
Huntington 41, Deer Park 3: Junior Ben Kocis had career highs in passing yards (293) and touchdowns (four) to lead Huntington (4-1). Junior Levar Butts had a career-high 18 tackles, including four for a loss and had an 85-yard touchdown run. Josh Long had three receptions for 112 yards and two touchdowns and Tyler Greenhill had three catches for 72 yards and a score and also returned a fumble 12 yards for a score. Deer Park is 1-4.
Hauppauge 24, Rocky Point 7: Dominick Confredo ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries and quarterback Corey Wood rushed for 134 yards on 16 carries to lead Hauppauge (2-3) on Friday night. Liam Ryan had seven tackles and a fumble recovery and Vinny Murillo had six tackles and an interception. Rocky Point falls to 1-4.Sayville 35, Comsewogue 7: Quarterback Zach Sirico scored on a 44-yard run, a 1-yard run and hit James Gattino for a 34-yard score to give Sayville (5-0) a 21-0 lead on Friday night. John Haggart ran for 147 yards on eight carries and two TDs in the win. Connor O'Neil led with 14 tackles and Kevin O'Connor had 13 tackles. Comsewogue falls to 1-4.Westhampton 30, Islip 9: Evan Gagne scored on an 11-yard run eight seconds into the second quarter and Brian Corrigan caught a 32-yard scoring pass from Jack Murphy early in the third to give Westhampton (3-2) a 16-3 lead on Friday night.
