By MARK MACYK. Ryan Crawley. North Babylon, SR, RB/LB. A team captain, he's the hammer in North Babylon's dynamic running attack. When he takes a handoff, his job is to pound defenses into submission. He doesn't always rack up the stats, but the two younger backs, Preshod McCoy and Adam Amin, couldn't get their yards without Crawley clearing the way in front of them.. Crawley will be the biggest test for Garden City's heralded defense. At 210 pounds, he is bigger than any running back the Trojans faced this season. Dealing with Crawley tires out even the most talented defensive units. That'll be a key, as the Bulldogs will need him to loosen up the defense if they expect McCoy to break off any long runs Friday.. But don't think Crawley is all guts, no glory. He has filled the stat sheet often in a division filled with punishing defenses. His 66-yard touchdown run against East Islip in the Division II semifinals tied it at 7 and took back the early momentum from the Redmen. Against Smithtown West, he had three touchdowns and 148 yards.. A hard hitter at middle linebacker, Crawley is also a key cog in one of Suffolk's most punishing defenses. He'll face another hard hitter in his Garden City counterpart, Steve Jahelka.
