Quarterback Sam Ilario ran for five touchdowns and rushed for 147 yards to lead West Islip (8-0) to a 39-14 win over Smithtown East yesterday in Suffolk II.

Ilario's second rushing touchdown was for 12 yards, and capped a 10-play, 85-yard drive to give West Islip a 14-7 lead. Dan Johnson added 113 yards on 15 carries. Nick Aponte made four catches for 104 yards and Max McNicholas had a 50-yard touchdown reception from A.J. Ilchert. Joe Barcia made 12 tackles. North Babylon 41, Newfield 13: Jake Conner threw two touchdown passes to Connor Slane and also ran for two touchdowns to lead North Babylon (5-3) over Newfield (3-5). North Babylon opened the game with a 7-play, 70 yard drive punctuated by a 6-yard TD run by Melijah Purvis, who finished with 50 yards on 12 carries. Matt Grassa had 11 tackles and three sacks and David Adames added seven tackles.

Riverhead 42, Whitman 8: Quinn Funn had five catches for 161 yards and three TDs on catches of 50, 25, and 30 yards to lead Riverhead (6-2) over Whitman (4-4). Ryan Bitzer completed all nine of his passes for 195 yards and two TDs. Mike Van Bommel had nine tackles and Matt Hejmej added eight. Jaron Greenidge recovered a fumble and returned it 63 yards for a score.

Smithtown West 41, Centereach 0: Andrew Lapreziosa had 85 yards and two touchdowns on five carries and Logan Greco added 34 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries to lead Smithtown West (4-4) over Centereach (1-7). Kyle Mathie returned an interception 105 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Daniel Cox had nine tackles and two sacks and Frank Brier added six tackles and one sack.

West Babylon 55, Copiague 34: Quarterback Clifton Melhado finished with 188 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries, and completed nine of 16 passes for 120 yards and a score to lead West Babylon (4-4). After Melhado tied the score at 14 early in the second quarter on a 4-yard run, he gave West Babylon the lead on a 37-yard cutback run off tackle. Melhado ran for two more scores in the third from 7 and 11 yards out, and also hit Nick Gilley for an 8-yard TD pass. Gilley had three receptions for 48 yards and also had two interceptions. Chris Lubin returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown and rushed for 156 yards on 19 carries. Matt Devlin had a 46-yard interception return for a touchdown. John and Michael Siefert led the team with nine tackles each. Copiague fell to 0-8.

East Islip 28, Half Hollow Hills West 7: Andre Deegan carried 15 times for 80 yards and a touchdown to lead East Islip (7-1) past Half Hollow Hills West (1-7). Deegan opened the scoring with a 12-yard TD run in a 21-point third quarter for East Islip. Casey Nolan completed 7 of 10 passes for 103 yards and a TD. He also ran for 22 yards and rushed for a TD. Kieren Neefeldt recorded six tackles, one sack and recovered a fumble to lead the defense. Matt Walter converted all four of his extra points.
