Stacey Bedell is coming home. The former Floyd High School star and co-Hansen Award winner has transferred to Stony Brook, coach Chuck Priore announced Saturday.
Bedell spent two years at Massachusetts, which plays at the FBS level, and has three years of eligibility left, the school said.
"Stacey is a tremendous athlete who can affect the game in many ways," Priore said. "We're fortunate that he's decided to come back to Suffolk County and continue his academic and athletic career at Stony Brook.''

As a redshirt freshman for the Minutemen in 2013, Bedell totaled 301 rushing yards and a touchdown in eight games. In his first collegiate start, the 5-10, 185-pound back rushed for 70 yards against Wisconsin. He accounted for career highs of 23 carries, 81 yards and a touchdown at Kansas State.
Bedell, who rushed for 2,532 yards and scored 39 touchdowns in his senior season at Floyd, played in only two games as a true freshman for UMass in 2012 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
