Suffolk IV roundup: Taylor Catz leads Hampton Bays

Taylor Catz ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns to lead Hampton Bays over Port Jefferson, 20-11, yesterday in a Suffolk IV game.

Catz's 15-yard TD burst up the right sideline gave the Baymen an 8-3 lead with 4:31 left in the second. His 4-yard TD run, capping an 87-yard drive, pushed the lead to 11 in the third. Ryan Palazzolo's 12-yard TD pass to Christian Nydegger made it 20-3 in the fourth. Middle linebacker Cody Nolan had eight tackles, Catz had six and Joe Tuttle added five.

Bayport-Blue Point 13, Stony Brook 6: George Ringer's 3-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter gave the Phantoms a 13-6 lead Friday night. The running back rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns to lead Bayport-Blue Point (1-1). Beau Kraft and Dan Percival each made six tackles.

Mount Sinai 32, Glenn 14:Zach Wolfe ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns for Mt. Sinai (2-0). Michael Cortese rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown. Coles Williams completed 3 of 4 passes for 30 yards and a score and had an interception at linebacker.

Center Moriches 24, Mercy 6: Tyrell Thomas completed 8 of 15 passes for 193 yards and three TDs, and ran for 54 yards to lead Center Moriches (2-0). Tarik Rountree had five catches for 102 yards and two TDs. Thomas' 6-yarder to Rountree pushed the lead to 24-0 in the fourth before Reggie Archer scored from 2 yards for Mercy.

Southampton 36, Wyandanch 24: Lyle Smith ran for 181 yards and four touchdowns for Southampton (1-1). He also had eight tackles and a sack. Shaundell Fishburne (54 yards) scored on a 5-yard run to put the Mariners up 14-8 in the second quarter. Southampton had six sacks.

Greenport/Southold/Mattituck 28, East Hampton/Bridgehampton 7:Frank Sierra ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries to lead Greenport/Southold/Mattituck (2-0). His 5-yard TD gave the Porters a 14-7 lead in the third quarter. Bill McAllister's 3-yard touchdown run tied it at 7 in the second quarter for the Porters. Connor Malone made 10 tackles.
