Taylor Catz, Trey Kennedy lead Hampton Bays football

Taylor Catz scored on a 58-yard run and Trey Kennedy scored on a run from 27 yards 1:15 into the game as Hampton Bays shut out Southampton, 34-0, in Suffolk IV football last night.

Kennedy rushed for 96 yards on three carries, and two scores, Catz added a 43-yard punt return TD and Cody Nolan ran for 41 yards on three carries and a TD for Hampton Bays (4-0). Kevin Giron made seven tackles and Ryan Murphy added a fumble recovery to lead Hampton Bays. Southampton is 1-3.


Sayville 5, Eastport-South Manor 2: Matt Leshinger scored the winner 13:58 into the second half as Sayville (5-0) erased a 2-0 deficit with five unanswered goals in Suffolk League V. Rob Hammerle tied the score at 2, 12:58 into the second half. Hammerle finished with three goals and one assist.

Miller Place 1, Shoreham-Wading River 0: Mike D'Agati scored the winner off a pass from Steven Liantonio 14 minutes into the second half to lead Miller Place (2-1-1) in League VI. Hicksville 1, Baldwin 0: Brenda Quinn scored the winning goal 10 minutes into the second half off a direct kick from Gabby Batista for Hicksville (5-2) in Nassau Conference AA-II.Wheatley 3, Carle Place 2: Maria Mazzola scored the winner on a header from an Alana Leahy corner kick with 2:30 left in the game to lift Wheatley (2-2-1) in Conference BC. Jamie Sellinger made 12 saves in the win.Floyd 2, Patchogue-Medford 1: Kayla Reyes made the winning score five minutes into the first overtime for Floyd (1-2-1) in Suffolk League I. Spela Sluga tied the score with two minutes left in regulation for the Colonials. Carly Olsen made seven saves in the shutout. Megan Palasek had 16 saves for Rocky Point.West Islip 1, Bayport-Blue Point 0: Kiera Kelly scored with 23:15 remaining to win it for West Islip (3-2) in Division II. Olivia Kelly made two saves in the shutout.

Sayville 4, Lindenhurst 1: Zoe Norton had two goals and Maddie Mills had three assists to lead Sayville (5-2) in Division II.Locust Valley 6, Wheatley 1: Junior Preston Tansill tied a career-high with three goals and had an assist for Locust Valley (1-3-1) in Nassau Conference I. Lauren Sidor added two goals, and Lindsay Bleistein had a goal and an assist in the win.
