All five high school basketball games scheduled for Tuesday night have been postponed. The Nassau-Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association postponed its championship games at Farmingdale State College, citing deteriorating weather and the safety of its players and fans.
"We were fortunate that Farmingdale State is available Wednesday and we felt it was in the best interests of everyone involved to move the games one day," said Donal Buckley, the director of athletics at St. Anthony's. "The weather is not going to be good."
The scheduled times will remain the same at Farmingdale State on Wednesday. Kellenberg will meet St. John the Baptist in the CHSAA Class A girls basketball final at 4 p.m. St. Anthony's will play St. Mary's in the Class AA girls basketball final at 5:45 p.m. and Chaminade will play Kellenberg for the boys championship at 7:30 p.m.
The two scheduled girls basketball championship games in Suffolk were moved to Wednesday and will remain at Ward Melville High School.
Harborfields will meet Hampton Bays in the Suffolk Class ABC final at 5 p.m. and Huntington will play Commack for the Class AA title at 7:30 p.m.
