Four St. Anthony's girls basketball players were injured in a car accident on Thursday afternoon after school and prior to practice. The four players were all passengers with a classmate driving as the group was going to get something to eat before practice. They were on the way back to St. Anthony's when the accident occurred.

All of the passenegers in the car were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Kerrin Mauer suffered a fractured ankle and two fractures in her hip. Brianna Harris has a separated shoulder and Micky Impellizeri and Symone Kelly were also injured.  

"It has been difficult for the entire team," coach Ken Parham said. "We're all getting through it."

St. Anthony's will play its scheduled game today at the Kennedy Challenge against Middle College with seven players in uniform.
