Commack wins in triple overtime
Kerry Haller scored seven of Commack's 11 points in the third overtime to finish with 20 points, eight steals and four assists in a 70-66 win over Ward Melville in a League I game.
Melissa Lobaccaro's steal and coas- to-coast driving layup with just under a minute to play in the third overtime gave Commack a 66-65 lead it would never relinquish. Lobaccaro, a junior forward, finished the game with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Ward Melville's Caysea Cohen hit a three-pointer with 0.8 seconds left in regulation to force the first overtime. Cohen led all scorers with 27 points.
Vanessa Pryor, who scored 19 points for Ward Melville, forced the second overtime with a jumper with just over a minute to play.
Chloe Mellon had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Commack (4-2), which trailed 24-21 at halftime.Ward Melville falls to 3-3.
