Rebecca Musgrove has committed to attend Brown University. The St. Anthony's senior guard has received interest from Brown since her freshman season and Musgrove was leaning towards going to an Ivy League school.

St. Mary’s just got a lot better. Three players from Mary Louis have transferred to St. Mary’s, including sophomore point guard Mei-Lyn Bautista, who is considered one of the top sophomore in the country. Sophomores Jordan Augustus and McKayla Hernandez will also make the move to St. Mary’s.

Nassau and Suffolk will both be holding tryouts for the their respective girls squads in the BCANY (Basketball Coaches Association of New York) Summer Hoops Festival in the coming days. All players entering grades 9-12 in September whose coaches are BCANY members are eligible. The Summer Hoops Festival will be held from August 3-5 in Johnson City.

The Long Island Lutheran girls basketball team was denied moving from Class B to Class A last season, but was approved to make the jump up in class for 2012-13. Long Island Lutheran will be eligible to play in the Class A Federation tournament.
