Junior Val Oyakhilome (above) had a career-high 36 points to go with 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks as No. 2 Lindenhurst defeated No. 10 Northport 71-51 in a Suffolk Class AA quarterfinal.
Allison McKenna had 27 points and 16 rebounds as No. 1 Glenn cruised past No. 4 Shoreham-Wading River, 65-25, in a Suffolk Class A semifinal.

I attended three of the four Nassau Class A quarterfinal games today and have insight from each. First let me say the atmosphere at each of the games was great, particularly the in-district battle with Floral Park and Sewanhaka. The semifinals at Freeport should be even better.

Senior Brooke Gerstman tied a career-high with 33 points, including eight straight to give Lynbrook a 54-46 lead with 2 minutes to go, to lead the No. 3 Owls to a 57-50 win over No. 6 Wantagh in the Nassau Class A quarterfinals.
Senior Amanda Johansen had 27 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists as she became the all-time leading scorer in North Shore history...Read more »
It takes little more than brief observation to tell that Caysea Cohen loves the razzle-dazzle. The Ward Melville star has a flair to her game – a few wild stunts short of Globetrotter status, but Cohen does seemingly get a kick out of flashing the slick handle.

1. St. Anthony’s (18-4): The Friars pulled off a huge upset defeating Riverdale Baptist of Maryland, 49-48. Riverdale Baptist was ranked second in the country at the time.
