The 3 Stars for Friday 3/9:

Allison McKenna (above) had 30 points, 23 rebounds and 10 blocks to lead Glenn to a 76-65 win over North Shore in the Class A Long Island Championship.

Melodee Riley had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead Riverhead to a 56-50 win over Baldwin in the Class AA Long Island Championship.

The 3 Stars for Tuesday 2/28:

Junior Shanice Allen (above) had 24 points, including the 1,000th of her career, as No. 3 Riverhead defeated No. 4 Hauppauge 60-52 in the Suffolk Class AA championship.

Katie Poppe had 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as Holy Trinity defeated Our Lady of Mercy 57-35 in the CHSAA quarterfinals.

Riverhead wins Suffolk Class AA championship

After losing the first game of the season, Riverhead hasn’t lost since. The Blue Waves had a goal of winning a county championship with a core that has been together for a few seasons and their aspirations came to fruition tonight in a 60-52 win over Hauppauge in the Suffolk Class AA finals.

The 3 Stars for Saturday 2/25:

Senior Melodee Riley (above) had a career-high 28 points to lead No. 3 Riverhead to a 66-51 win over No. 2 Lindenhurst in the Suffolk Class AA semifinals.

Lindsay Alfano had 14 points, including a 3-pointer with 43 seconds left to put No. 4 Hauppauge ahead by three and the Eagles held on to defeat No. 1 Sachem East 47-45 in the Suffolk Class AA semifinals.

The 3 Stars for Wednesday 2/22:

Junior Val Oyakhilome (above) had a career-high 36 points to go with 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks as No. 2 Lindenhurst defeated No. 10 Northport 71-51 in a Suffolk Class AA quarterfinal.

Allison McKenna had 27 points and 16 rebounds as No. 1 Glenn cruised past No. 4 Shoreham-Wading River, 65-25, in a Suffolk Class A semifinal.

Junior Brooke Spallino (above) had a career-high 23 points and made a game-saving block with 11 seconds to play as No. 3 Locust Valley upset No. 2 Carle Plce 45-42 in a Nassau Class B semifinal.

Theresa Carey had 16 points, including the 1,000th of her career, as No. 2 Hampton Bays defeated No. 3 Mattituck 63-44 in a Suffolk Class B semifinal.

The 3 Stars for Monday 2/13:

Senior Halle Majorana (above) had 16 of her career-high 34 points in the third quarter and added five rebounds and five assists as Manhasset defeated Great Neck North in Conference A-III to earn third place in the conference.

Sophomore Jessica Rini had a career-high 32 points and added 18 rebounds for Seaford in a 56-40 win over Clarke in Conference A-IV.
