1.   Sachem East (19-3): The No. 2 Flaming Arrows defeated North Babylon, 72-69, in a thrilling Suffolk Class AA championship game. They won the county championship after losing in the last two. Kristen Doherty had 24 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists, Caitlin Hopkins had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Kelsey Ferguson had 11 points and five steals. Sachem East defeated Center Moriches, 59-31, for the Suffolk overall championship as sophomore Meagan Doherty scored a career-high 23 points. Sachem East will play Baldwin for the Long Island Class AA championship Friday.

 2.      North Babylon (18-3): Top-seeded North Babylon came up short in the Suffolk Class AA championship game, falling to No. 2 Sachem East, 72-69. The Bulldogs’ Bria Hartley had a phenomenal performance with a Long Island playoff record 51 points. She scored 44 of her points in the final quarter. She hit a three-pointer with 1:10 left in the game to give the Bulldogs a 68-67 lead. Hartley bested her career high of 43, which she had in the semifinals against Smithtown West. The UConn-bound Hartley finished her career with 1,978 points.  
 3. St. John the Baptist (16-10): The No. 2 Cougars defeated top-seeded Kellenberg, 58-47, in the NSCHSAA championship game for their sixth championship in seven seasons. Kamala Thompson scored a season-high 24 points, including four three-pointers. Alexis Smith scored 12 points and Anastasia Williams added nine. SJB plays Christ the King in a first-round CHSAA Class AA state playoff game Friday.
 
 
4. Kellenberg (16-7): The Firebirds weren’t able to repeat as NSCHSAA champions, losing to St. John the Baptist, 58-47. Emma O’Connor scored 21 points, including the 1,000th of her career. Meghan Leap scored 11. Kellenberg will play Bishop Ford in the first round of the CHSAA Class AA state playoffs Friday.
 
 
5. St. Anthony’s (21-6): The Friars beat St. John Villa, 47-35, in the first round of the CHSAA Class A state playoffs. Symone Kelly had 12 points and 14 rebounds and Micki Impellizeri had eight points and 15 rebounds. The Friars will play Nardin (Buffalo) in the quarterfinals Friday.
 
6. Long Island Lutheran (20-3): The Crusaders advanced to the Class Federation semifinals for the second consecutive season after defeating Dalton, 79-54, in the NYSAIA Class B final. Paige Kriftcher led the way with 25 points.
 
7. St. Mary’s (17-8): The Gaels defeated St. Joseph Hill, 66-41, in the first round of the CHSAA Class A state playoffs. Shannon Flynn scored 27 in less than three quarter before leaving with an ankle injury. The Gaels will play Molloy in the quarterfinals Friday.
 
8. Division (19-1): Division had the week off after winning the Nassau Class A championship on Feb. 27. Division will play Harborfields for the Long Island Class A championship and a trip to the state final four on Friday.
 
9. Ward Melville (16-4): The No. 3 Patriots lost to Sachem East, 70-32, in the Suffolk Class AA semifinals.
 
10. Center Moriches (16-7): The Red Devils defeated Harborfields in the Small school championship, 52-36 and lost to Sachem East in the Overall championship, 59-31. They will play Locust Valley for the Long Island Class B championship Tuesday.
 
 
 Players of the Week
Bria Hartley (North Babylon): Hartley scored a Long Island playoff record 51 points in a 72-69 loss to Sachem East in the Suffolk Class AA championship game. She scored 43 points against Smithtown West in the semifinals. The UConn-bound Hartley finished her career with 1,978 points.
 
Caitlin Hopkins (Sachem East): Hopkins had 20 points and 12 rebounds in a 72-69 win over North Babylon in the Suffolk Class AA championship game.
 
Kristen Doherty (Sachem East): Doherty had 24 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists in the Suffolk Class AA championship game. She had 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists in a 59-31 win over Center Moriches in the Suffolk Overall championship.
 
Kamala Thompson (St. John the Baptist): Thompson scored a season-high 24 points as St. John the Baptist defeated Kellenberg, 58-47, in the NSCHSAA championship game for the Cougars sixth title in seven seasons.
 
Paige Kriftcher (Long Island Lutheran): She scored 25 points in a 79-54 win over Dalton in the NYSAIS Class B final.
 
 Shannon Flynn (St. Mary’s): She scored 27 points in less than three quarters after leaving the game with a sprained ankle in a 66-41 win over St. Joseph Hill in the first round of the CHSAA Class A state playoffs.
 
 Shneeka Center (Smithtown West): Center had 22 points and 20 rebounds in a 69-37 loss to North Babylon in the Suffolk Class AA semifinals.
 
 Emma O’Connor (Kellenberg): The senior scored 21 points, including the 1,000th of her career in the NSCHSAA championship game.
