The Dowling Sports Complex will host the Long Island Championships on Sunday (so the Suffolk teams, technically, are home) and the game schedules are in reverse alphabetical order. The Class C game starts first, followed by the "B" and then "A."

Class A: Bay Shore vs. Farmingdale, 5 p.m.

Bay Shore captured its second Suffolk championship in three years with an 11-5...

Eastport-South Manor made program history on Tuesday, advancing to the county final for the first time with an 8-7 win over Sayville in a Suffolk Class B semifinal.

Allison Gionta’s goal with a little under eight minutes remaining gave ESM an 8-3 lead over No. 3 Sayville. The Golden Flashes rallied late and Kimmy Marra’s score with 1:14 left pulled them within a goal. A Sayville foul on the...

We're almost there, folks. Most teams have two games left in the regular season before it's time to duke it out for best of the best and my precious, precious rankings will be moot. I'll be honest: it tends to get a little more arbitrary the farther down you go on the list, only because it's a mess of who's beaten who (Team A beat Team B, Team C beat Team A, but Team B beat Team C...In other words,...

The season is rushing to a close and we're getting a much clearer picture of what the playoffs are going to be like. And me? Well, I'm just trying to keep up with all the upsets. My poor, bedraggled coworkers have all left, but here I am, doing the top 10. Why? Because I care. But mostly because I forgot to post this on Sunday. My bad, guys. My bad. Drop me down a few rankings. Also, they're vacuuming....

How much a week can change. Big losses by big teams reshuffled the Top 10 and, frankly, it’s a free-for-all up in here. Any team can take a crack at Suffolk elite and, it’s in that spirit that we welcome East Islip and Kings Park to the proceedings. As for the spots up top, Hauppauge seems to be the only powerhouse immune to shuffle, while Ward Melville solidifies its hold on No. 2. Meanwhile, Bay...

‘Twas a short week and hey, this is my second day off in a row (this rarely happens, give me a moment to bask)…so I present to you, the Suffolk Top 10, with an abridged introduction. No worries. I’ll overwrite next week, when I have more games to look at. The top of the rankings hold steady, while the bottom half goes through some seismic shifts. Check it out, laxers.
