Good morning from SUNY Cortland girls lax enthusiasts!

I'm Chris Mascaro and I'll be bringing you all of today's live game action of the New York state girls lacrosse semifinals. We've got a tripleheader of action beginning with Farmingdale (13-4) and Pittsford of Section III (17-3) in the Class A semis coming up in just a couple minutes.

At noon, Garden City (19-0) will take on Canandaigua of Section III (19-1) in the Class B semifinals, and at 2:30 p.m., Shoreham-Wading River (17-2) will play Honeoye Falls-Lima of Section III (15-5) in the Class C semis.

But for now, let's get back to the Class A game. The Dalers have been to the state tournament the last five years but only last year got over the hump in winning the title.

On Sunday, they took out Bay Shore 13-9 at the Dowling Sports Complex to win their fifth straight L.I. title behind Melanie Raso's four goals and Alex Gurecki's six key saves.

Raso (pictured, left) leads the team with 62 goals, including 12 in three playoff games. Jamie Leone has 44 goals on the season, Kelly McPartland has 39 and Kyra Ochwat has 34. Alyssa Cardillo has racked up 29 goals and a team-leading 41 assists.

Farmingdale has outscored its playoff opponents 49-22.

Pittsford won its first sectional title this season, and then defeated Lancaster 16-6 in the regional final. They nearly didn't make it out of the first round of the section playoffs, as they needed three overtimes to defeat Fairport 11-10.

They are led by attacks Emily Peets and Devon Collins, and standout goalie Ashley Herbst.

The winner of this game will play the winner of West Genesee (III) and Lakeland/Panas (I), which is being played at Tompkins Cortland Community College. Farmingdale defeated West Genesee 10-9 in overtime in last year's state semis.

We're just about 10 minutes from action here at Cortland, so buckle up!
