Cortney Fortunato's three goals lead Northport girls

Cortney Fortunato scored three times, with her third goal coming late in the fourth as Northport topped Lindenhurst, 3-1, Saturday in Suffolk League II girls soccer.

Fortunato's second goal, five minutes into the second, gave Northport a 2-0 lead, while her third with 3:50 left provided the final margin. Northport (8-1-2) moved into a tie for first place in League II with Lindenhurst (8-1-2). Both teams have one game remaining.

Commack 3, Sachem East 2: Erin Neville scored all three goals for Commack (8-4) in Division I. The winner came on a free kick with 4:43 left in the game. She tied the score with 5:55 left in the second. West Hempstead 4, Valley Steam Central 0: Courtney Sills had two goals and an assist to lead West Hempstead (6-2-3) in Nassau Conference A-III.

Holy Trinity 5, St. Mary's 0: Keira Palumbo had two goals to lead Holy Trinity (6-5-1) in CHSAA.BOYS SOCCER

Jericho 2, Wantagh 1: Ajani Motta scored his first goal of the season and Harrison Reiber had a goal to lead Jericho (11-1-0) in Nassau Conference A-IV.Friends Academy 2, Wheatley 2: Down 2-1 with 9:00 left, Harrison Seideman off a feed from Liam Bardong for Friends Academy (7-0-3) in Conference BC. St. John the Baptist wins. Paolo Fiore finished sixth in 16:19 as St. John the Baptist took first place in the varsity large schools race at the Brown Invitational in Warwick, R.I. SJB won with 90 points and Sachem East finished second with 150 points.

Udvadia leads SWR. Ryan Udvadia finished first in 15:51 in the 5k Varsity Division I race at the Brown Invitational. SWR finished with 91 points.Girls cross country

Bay Shore takes 2nd.Jasmine Reyes took ninth in the 5,000 meters in a time of 19:33.9 as Bay Shore placed second in the Varsity II race with 142 points at the Brown Invitational at Goddard Park in Warwick, R.I. Lindsay Arcuri placed 22nd with a time of 20:15.1 and Caelyn Reilly came in 27th in 20:27.9.FIELD HOCKEY

Friends Academy 2, North Shore 1: Alix Heffron scored the winning goal with 5:00 left in overtime. Alexa Landow tied the score in the second half. Charlotte Gelfand made six saves to lead Friends Academy (8-5) in a non-league match.Smithtown East 2, Northport 1: Sami Nizich scored on a penalty corner with five minutes left in overtime to win it for Smithtown East (10-2) in Suffolk Division I. Bay Shore 1, Bayport-Blue Point 0: Kyra Harney scored off a rebound with 22 minutes left to lead Bay Shore (11-2) in Division II. Courtney Alberto had one save for her fourth shutout of the season.

Lindenhurst 1, West Islip 0: Rachel Gumowski scored four minutes into the second half off a corner to lead Lindenhurst (7-5) in Division II.Riverhead 2, Shoreham-Wading River 1: Corinne Kimmelman made 10 saves overall, including three in the penalty stroke session to lead Riverhead (9-4) in Division III. Riverhead won 4-2 in strokes. Christy Brewer, Rebecca Reilly, Danielle Napoli and Sydney Kito each scored in strokes for Riverhead.
