The BIG 10 may not run in Newsday until Tuesday, but here's a sneak peak of the top ten girls soccer teams on Long Island:

1. St. Anthony’s (0-0-2) -- The perennial powerhouse entered the season ranked number eight in the country by ESPN Rise. They may have returned from their road trip to Ohio with a pair of ties, but with a roster filled with D-I talents like Margo McGinty and Reanna Marino, the Friars are built for a state title.

2. Massapequa -- Rosie DiMartino, Emmalee Meyer and the defending Class AA state champions, who are seeking their ninth straight county title, kick off their season Monday against Baldwin.

3. West Islip (1-0) -- The last time we saw the Lions on the field, their bid for a second straight county championship fell short by a mere penalty kick in a heartbreaking loss to Smithtown East. Fittingly, their season kicked off with a rematch of the county title game on Saturday as Amanda Martinez scored two goals and Shannon Walter added her first varsity goal in a 3-0 win over Smithtown East. It may not avenge the county championship loss, but it's a start.

4. East Islip
5. South Side (0-0-1)
6. Northport
7. Garden City
8. Sayville (1-0)
9. Kellenberg
10. MacArthur
