MacArthur and Calhoun will square off in the Nassau Class AA final Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Denton Ave. Park. Neither team has ever won a county title.

MacArthur is led by Jill Mulholland up top, Kelly Kempf in the midfield and a very strong back four who keeps the opposition from challenging Jenna Cozza in between the pipes. The Generals' only losses this season came to Conference AA-I champion Farmingdale, a team Calhoun defeated in the quarterfinals

Calhoun is led by Kristina Gandolfo, the leading scorer in Nassau county. Gandolfo's breakaway speed combined with her size makes her an allusive striker and few opponents have been able to contain her. While Mepham was somewhat successful in this regard, Gandolfo drew the foul to setup Mary Hijazi's game-winning PK in overtime. The Colts have a strong defense as well and Alissa Battaglia is a strong keeper despite her admittedly short stature.
