Friends coach Gail Baker, although impressed Iordanou's clutch play, lauded her team's defense, particularly Heather Maierle and Alexis Toles. Maierle was instrumental in shutting down Seward's stop scorer Gladys Loyas.

Friends (9-4) will face Hoosick Falls in a state semifinal at noon Saturday at Tompkins CC in Cortland.
