Despite playing down a man for the final 45 minutes due to a red card and relinquishing a two-goal lead, top-seeded Mattituck overcame adversity and defeated No. 2 Center Moriches, 4-2, in the Suffolk Class B boys soccer county final at Diamond in the Pines in Coram Saturday.

It is the third consecutive county championship for Mattituck (14-3-1). Mattituck received a red card in the 35th minute and Center Moriches immediately took advantage when Edgar Amaya scored to cut the lead to 2-1.

Center Moriches tied the score at 2 in the 62nd minute off a header by Kevin O'Brien. Two minutes later, Mattituck's Stephen Urwand scored from 18 yards out off a feed from James Hayes to put his team ahead, 3-2. Goalie Stephen Ostrowski had five saves and made a pair of them with under five minutes to go to preserve a 4-2 lead.

Mattituck will play Carle Place in the Long Island Class B final/Southeast Regional semifinals at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mitchel Field.
