The sophomore hurled a three-hitter, struck out seven and allowed no earned runs in an 8-1 win over Shoreham-Wading River. The win eliminated the defending Class A champs.

He pitched a two-hitter as the Trojans ended Wantagh's win streak at 19 with a 4-0 win in the first round of the Class A playoffs.

She had five goals and 10 assists in the Warriors' 22-12 win over South Side in a Nassau Class B quarterfinal. The senior came within two assists of the state record.

Senior went 3-for-4, including three home runs in a 16-5 win over Holy Trinity. He had five RBIs for the first-place Bayhawks.

Playing with an injured right knee, she had four goals and two assists in the Friars' 17-9 win over Sacred Heart.

EAST ROCKAWAY, SOFTBALL

Allowed four hits in a 6-1 win in Game 3 as No. 4 East Rockaway advanced to the county final.

ALYSSA MONTEVERDE

WEST ISLIP, SOFTBALL

Struck out a career-high 15, allowed four hits and hit a two-run triple in the Lions' 6-0 win over Centereach on May 15.

LONGWOOD, BASEBALL

Had back-to-back tiebreaking seventh-inning RBI hits in No. 11 Longwood's upset wins over No. 6 Smithtown East and third-seeded Sachem East in Suffolk AA.

KIM PRESUTO

SYOSSET, LACROSSE

She made 16 saves in a 13-4 win over Hicksville in the Nassau Class A semifinals.

MATT HOLLIS

STONY BROOK, TRACK

The junior won the long jump (18-31/4), discus (109-3) and the pole vault (11-6) in a victory over Ross.

RACHEL CONTI

RIVERHEAD, TRACK

The junior won the 1,500 in 5:18 and the 3,000 in 12:26 in an 84-56 victory over East Islip.

COURTNEY MURPHY

FLOYD, LACROSSE

In the final game of her varsity career, she had a career-high nine goals and five assists.

CORTNEY FORTUNATO

NORTHPORT, LACROSSE

Had eight goals and four assists to defeat Hauppauge in the first round of the Class A playoffs.
