Let’s start things off right: Shoutout to Sayville’s Liz Koehler and Gina Palumbo, seniors who scored their first goals of the year on senior day. Way to be clutch (and make it memorable). Now, off to the races…

Vanessa Costantino, West Islip – I wanna stick that extra ‘n’ in her last name every time. Ms. Costantino scored the winner with eight seconds left in the first OT in the Lions game win over Sachem East and added five goals and five assists against Smithtown East.

Cortney Fortunato, Northport – My goodness, this girl is unstoppable when she gets going. Fortunato had nine goals and three assists against a normally-stingy Hills defense and had seven goals and four assists against Smithtown West.

Elizabeth Pellechi, Smithtown East – She had a career-high ten goals against Smithtown East, which is tops in Suffolk this week.

Mary Ellen Carron, Mount Sinai – She was all over the field against East Hampton…Carron had three goals, four draw controls and six ground balls as the Mustangs held their opponent to only four goals.

Gianna Minogue, Sayville – Had 13 saves against Rocky Point, holding them to four goals in the 13-4 win.

Kaileen Hart, Babylon – Defense! Sweet, sweet defense. Hart had four groundballs, two interceptions and two draw controls as Babylon shut out Hampton Bays 13-0.

Alyssa Milano, Rocky Point – A year after tearing her ACL, the senior had a career-high nine goals, with two assists, in Rocky Point’s 19-12 win over Miller Place. She finished with week with 17 goals and an assist.

Christina Turner, Harborfields – Turner scored the equalizer with 3:29 left in regulation and the winner with 1:08 left in the first overtime for Huntington.

Unsung Hero of the Week: Bellport’s Hailey Wagner, who finished with 14 goals and one assist in three losses.

Lightening Round!

St. John the Baptist’s Morgan Jaycox had six goals and four assists…Tiffany Zullo had seven goals in a win for Connetquot….Samantha Apuzzo keeps raking for West Babylon, this time with nine goals against Commack…Westhampton’s Bella Recchion had seven goals and three assists against Center Moriches…Comsewogue’s Stefani Vagelatos had the game-winning assist on a man-down goal by Rachel Markowitz to beat Bellport. She also had the game-tying assist.
