Live at Middletown High School as Mattituck (16-3-1) gies up against Section V's Livonia (19-0-1) in the state Class B semifinals. The Tuckers won a hard-fought Regional game 5-4 to get to this point. Senior David Burkhardt led the way with three goals and two assists. The game will begin at 1:45 p.m. Stay tuned for updates.

Wow! David Burkhardt scores 38 seconds into the game to give Mattituck an early 1-0 lead. The ball actually found Burkhardt off a deflection and he was able to kick it past the diving goalie.

Mattituck has been the aggressor early on, dominating possession and getting some good shot opportunities. The Livonia goalie has made three great saves. Almost midway through and the score is still 1-0.

Scratch that! Livonia breaks through and gets a goal with 20:24 left to tie the game. Kory Zimmer scored off an assist from Brandon Holley and we're all tied up.

Mattituck's shot attempt goes off the crossbar and then the Livonia goalie makes a save on the rebound attempt to preserve the tie.

Burkhardt gets a beautiful through ball but his shot attempt goes over the net. A little under 10 minutes to go in the first half and Livonia is playing more aggressively. Mattituck is making them work though; the Livonia goalie has at least six saves already.

The first half ends tied at 1. Livonia's goal seems to have given them new energy; they're winning more of the 50/50 balls and defending better. Give credit to their goalie Sean Smith, who already has eight saves. Mattituck has been putting the pressure on. The Tuckers just haven't been able to convert some good opportunities.

Eight minutes into the second half and Mattituck already with four shot attempts. Can't find the back of the net, though, and we're still tied at 1.

Livonia breaks the tie as Mitch Kinney headed the ball in with 26:08 left in the game. Mattituck now trails 2-1.

Livonia's midfield has been playing great. Mattituck hasn't been able to get the ball to their side of the field. Under 8:00 left and the Tuckers still trail 2-1.

Livonia's Brandon Holley scores off a rebound with 3:00 left. Desperation time for Mattituck, as they now trail by two goals.

Final: Mattituck falls, 2-1.
