Conference titles and playoff spots are still up for grabs in Suffolk. Here are some of the best performances in the County in the second to last series of the season. The list is full of the usual suspects and a few players who have flown under the radar this season.

Casey Baker, Connetquot

Baker hit two home runs in a 6-4 League II win over Lindenhurst on April 30 and pitched a complete game three-hitter with nine strikeouts on May 2 as Connetquot clinched a playoff spot.

Joey Booker, Port Jefferson

Books went 5-for-6 with two doubles and two runs on April 30 against Mercy and was the winning pitcher the next day after striking out five and allowing two runs in a complete game.

Matt Crohan, Riverhead

The senior lefty pitched a one-hitter against Newfield with 17 strikeouts. He carried a perfect game bid into the sixth inning. Crohan also went 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.

Anthony Kay, Ward Melville

The lefty struck out 14 and allowed only two hits in a complete game shutout over Brentwood on April 29 and followed up with five hits in the next two games against the Indians.

Kyle Pendergast, Shoreham-Wading River

Pendergast went 5-for-9 with a double and four stolen bases and also pitched two innings of scoreless relief to pick up a save in the final two games of SWR’s sweep of East Hampton.

Colman Vila, Pierson/Bridgehampton

The senior pitched a no-hitter against Shelter Island, striking out 17 and allowing only one walk.

Stephen Woods, Half Hollow Hills East

Woods struck out 18 batters and allowed only one hit in the seventh inning in a victory over West Islip. Woods was bidding for his third no-hitter of the season.
