Jackson helps Newfield beat Riverhead in League III

Jackson's basket gave Newfield (5-3) a 64-60 lead with 50 seconds left. Steven Cohen had 10 of his 16 points during a 29-8 second quarter for Newfield, which overcame a 15-6 first-quarter deficit.

Riverhead outscored Newfield 24-11 in the third, but Jackson had six points and Jarrell Cowell added eight of his 15 points during an 18-16 fourth quarter.

Smithtown East 52, West Islip 51: Patrick Riccio drilled a three-pointer with 1.6 seconds left to give Smithtown East (3-4) the comeback win in League III. Down 12 with 1:12 left in the game, Ryan Ingarozza (13 points) scored 11 during a 13-0 run for Smithtown East. Brian Willets added 14 points in the win.

Brentwood 72, Ward Melville 63: Femi Olujobi had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Mike Almonacy had 20 points and five assists to lead Brentwood (8-0) in League I. Carle Place 51, Locust Valley 44: Samantha Burden (15) and Sarah Pisani combined for 24 points during a 34-28 second half for Carle Place (7-1) in Nassau Conference BC. Burden finished with 17 and Pisani had 14 points.

Riverhead 55, Newfield 35: Shanice Allen had 26 points and seven steals to lead Riverhead (6-1) in League III.West Islip 32, Smithtown East 26: Rachel Hunter paced West Islip (3-5 in League III) with 15 points. Lindsey Darrell added seven points in the win. Deer Park 51, Comsewogue 41: Kristy Vitucci scored 17 points to lift Deer Park (5-3) in League IV. Sabrina Grunseich added 12 points and 13 rebounds and Nicole Gomez had 11 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. East Islip 42, Centereach 37: Mariah Cullen had 12 points and Elizabeth Vetter scored all nine of her points in the second half for East Islip (6-2) in League III. Alexa Mattera added seven points for East Islip.

Copiague 83, West Babylon 60: Mikaiya Moore had 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead Copiague (6-2) in League IV. Aiysha Dunlap added 10 points and 12 rebounds off the bench in the win.Huntington 47, Hauppauge 42: Raynisha Witherspoon had 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead Huntington (6-2) in League IV. East Hampton 46, Mount Sinai 42: Kaelyn Ward had 17 points and four assists and Courtney Dess had nine points for East Hampton (3-3) in League VI.Miller Place 45, Bayport-Blue Point 39: Milan Hatcher's basket with 1:30 left in overtime gave Miller Place (3-4) the lead for good in League VI. Miller Place's Danielle Nook (11 points, 16 rebounds) hit a lay-up with 30 seconds left in regulation to force OT. Christine Patterson added 14 points and 16 rebounds. Stony Brook 32, Smithtown Christian 23: Keara Vancol had 18 points and 16 rebounds for Stony Brook (5-1) in League VIII. Ariana Odom added nine points.
