Krista Trinidad's goal lifts Bellmore JFK past MacArthur, 1-0

Krista Trinidad scored off a pass from Jen Alfonsi with 35 minutes remaining in the game to give Bellmore JFK a 1-0 win over MacArthur Monday in Nassau Conference AA-I girls soccer. Trinidad took the long pass from the left and kicked it into the far right corner from about 18 yards out to defeat MacArthur, the defending Class AA state champions. Junior Nicole Liotta made a career-high 20 saves in the win. Baldwin 4, Carey 1: Senior Ayanna Smith had three goals and Nicole Sheintul added two assists for Baldwin in Nassau Conference AA-II.

West Hempstead 1, Oyster Bay 0: Nia Jones scored in the 62nd minute for West Hempstead in non-league. Jackie Christenson made six saves in the win.Eastport-South Manor 2, Center Moriches 1: Nijay Brown scored the winning goal on a direct kick with 2:11 left for Eastport-South Manor in non-league. Rebecca Tooker also scored a goal.

Commack 2, West Islip 0: Freshman Samantha Miller had eight saves for Commack in non-league.

Sachem East 4, Miller Place 0: Brittany DeBole had one goal and two assists to lead Sachem East in non-league. Wheatley 5, Locust Valley 2: Rebecca Braito had a hat trick in the first half to lead Wheatley in Conference BC.

Whitman 2, Huntington 1: Kelly Bilodeau had two goals to lead Whitman in non-league.

Northport 2, Ward Melville 1: Kristin Desmond scored the winner with 29 minutes remaining for Northport in non-league. Jess Rom made nine saves in the win.BOYS SOCCER

Baldwin 2, Bellmore JFK 1: D.J. Hunter scored off a pass from Greg Abrahams with 25 minutes left to give Baldwin a 2-1 lead in non-league. Abrahams had a goal and an assist, and Dan Capone made four saves.

East Islip 4, Islip 1: Senior Brady Benitez scored a career-high four points, including his first career hat trick to lift East Islip in non-league.

Island Trees 3, Carle Place 1: Lou Belleau had two goals and an assist to lead Island Trees in non-league. Andrew Barbine made 10 saves, including a stop on a penalty kick in the second half in the win.

South Side 2, Wheatley 1: Brian Hurwitz scored the winning goal with five minutes left to lead South Side in non-league. Lucas Derkatch added a goal off an assist from Chuck Leone.

Wantagh 1, Calhoun 0: Matt Vaccaro scored off a rebound 30 seconds into the second half for Wantagh in non-league.

FIELD HOCKEY

Connetquot 1, Sachem North 0: Tiffany Zullo scored off a pass from Erin Massman 12 minutes into the second half to lift Connetquot in non-league.

Cold Spring Harbor 1, Massapequa 0: Courtney Burke scored off a corner with 8:26 left in the second overtime to lead Cold Spring Harbor in Conference I. Taylor Striar had 10 saves in the shutout.
