Marro's goal enables Deer Park to end Hills West's streak at 45

Keith Marro scored the winning goal off a pass from Daniel Friend in the 67th minute as Deer Park topped Half Hollow Hills West, 1-0, in Suffolk League IV boys soccer Thursday.

Ricky Occhino had seven saves for Deer Park, which halted Hills West's regular-season league winning streak at 45 games. Hills West drops to 6-1 in league play.

Brentwood 1, Commack 0: Kevin Diaz scored with six minutes left to win it for Brentwood (7-0, League I), which clinched a playoff spot for the 17th consecutive season. Diaz scored four minutes after Commack goalkeeper Joe Brandofino stopped a penalty kick by Ever Torres. Commack is 4-2-1.

Bay Shore 2, Half Hollow Hills East 1: Braulio Sandoval scored the winner five minutes into overtime to lift Bay Shore (5-1) in League II. Bay Shore's Avery Gomez made eight saves, including one on a penalty kick midway through the second half. Hills East is 3-3.

Bellmore JFK 2, Farmingdale 2: Monique Polanco scored the tying goal with 10 minutes left off a cross from Krista Trinidad to lead Bellmore JFK (3-4-1) in Nassau Conference AA-I. Kerri Baum also scored for Bellmore. Nadine Hadnagy and Christina Vargas scored for Farmingdale (6-0-3).Hicksville 0, Syosset 0: Raquel Poetzsch made a diving save with five minutes left to preserve the scoreless tie for Hicksville (5-3-1) in Conference AA-II. Poetzsch stopped six shots and Julia Rauschenberger made five saves for Syosset (6-0-2).Clarke 1, South Side 1: Sam Goodwin scored the tying goal with 20 minutes left off a throw-in from Nicole Wahlig for Clarke (4-3-2) in Conference A-I. Tessa Considine had the goal for South Side (7-0-1).Friends Academy 2, Cold Spring Harbor 1: Kasey Katz scored the winning goal on a cross from Heather Maierly with 25:16 remaining to lift Friends (5-1) in Conference BC. Krystina Iordanou tied the score in the 30th minute. Claudia Ratner made eight saves for Friends. Cold Spring Harbor is 6-1. GIRLS SWIMMING

Farmingdale 57, Wantagh 44:Sara Golshahr won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.25 seconds and the 100 freestyle (56.24), Jasmine Rashid won the 100 backstroke (1:07.44) and Katie Waszkiewicz won the 100 breaststroke (1:17.89) to lead Farmingdale (1-4) in Nassau Conference I.
