Mike Kissel rolls 300 to boost East Islip

Senior Mike Kissel bowled a 300 in the first game of a 782 series to lead East Islip to a 3-0 win over West Babylon in Suffolk League I boys bowling Thursday.

Kissel rolled 268 and 214 in the second and third games as East Islip prevailed, 1,228-947, 1,083-908 and 1,119-1,036. Kissel, whose previous career high was 289, leads Suffolk with a 233.5 average, East Islip coach Bob Cheadle said.

"Mike is probably the hardest working bowler on our team,'' Cheadle said. "Everyone on our team works hard, but he bowls well over 1,000 games a year. His performance is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work.'' North Babylon 2, Bay Shore 1: Seventh-grader Dave Maysonet bowled 222 in the third game of a 578 series and Dominick Casale rolled a 219 in the third game of a 565 series for North Babylon in a 877-962, 934-836, 993-854 win in League I. Smithtown 2, Commack 1: James Masone bowled 265 in the first game of a 702 series and Andrew Western shot 289 in the first game of a 695 series for Smithtown (8-2) in a 1,082-1,078, 1,078-1,081, 1,108-1,046 in Suffolk League II. Sachem East 3, Patchogue-Medford 0: Nick Caruana bowled a 247 in the first game of a 667 series to lead Sachem East (7-3) in a 1,071-956, 1,065-961, 978-873 League III win. Kyle Schneyer rolled a 238 in the first game of a 648 series in the win. Commack 2, Smithtown 1: Jessica Lodato bowled a 201 in game one of a 565 series to lead Commack (7-3) to a 855-871, 930-864, 942-940 win in League I. Laura Molloy bowled a 222 in the middle game of a 640 series for Smithtown.East Islip 3, Sachem East 0: Lena Sorrentino bowled a 266 in game three of a 724 series in a 1,054-775, 989-694, 1,106-856 win for East Islip (9-0) in League II. Sayville 96, Hauppauge 88: Kieran Harrison won the 50 free in 25.93 seconds and the 100 free in 56.56 seconds to lead Sayville (5-0) in Suffolk League II. His brother, Liam, won the 1-meter dive (202.02).
