The New Rochelle boys basketball continues to look like a team of destiny after another last-second playoff win.

The Huguenots found themselves down by two points to Kingston High School with 10 seconds remaining in Sunday afternoon's Class AA state regional final.

Because the team has won pressure-packed games before, including Khalil Edney's 55-foot buzzer-beater shot for the win over rival Mount Vernon just two weeks ago, the team remained calm.

"I was thinking about Mount Vernon all over again," said senior Joe Clark. "Coach told us not to shoot a three-pointer, but to just try and tie the game."

But Clark did more than just tie the game. He got the ball down in the low post, made the basket and got fouled in the process.

His free throw put New Rochelle up by one, and it went on to win the game 63-60. Clarke finished with 31 points and seven rebounds.

With the victory, New Rochelle will be making the trip to Glens Falls for its first appearance in the state final four since 2005. It will play Northport (Section 11) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the state semifinals.
