Tuesday's snowstorm wiped out all scheduled high school sports events in Nassau and Suffolk, according to the county's top sports officials.

"As far as I know, everything is [postponed]," Suffolk (Section XI) executive director Ed Cinelli said.

"I don't know of any school district that scheduled an event," Nassau (Section VIII) executive director Nina Van Erk said.

Both officials indicated there was a chance that there would be further postponements on Wednesday, as many schools have already indicated they will be closed.

While the revised dates for many events remain uncertain, Cinelli said, "We expect to be backlogged, but we intend to make up all of our league contests."

Van Erk said that two winter track meets have been rescheduled. Tuesday's Conference IV and VI girls meets will be run at 8 a.m. on Sunday and Wednesday's Conference IV and VI boys meets will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. Both will be at St. Anthony's.

Cinelli said that Tuesday's multiteam boys winter track meet at Suffolk CC-Brentwood may not be rescheduled because there are no available dates at SCC-Brentwood and it is not a championship meet.

In the CHSAA, all of Tuesday's events were postponed and will be rescheduled at the schools' discretion. The St. Anthony's vs. St. John the Baptist boys basketball game has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist.

Revised scheduling information for Nassau and Suffolk public schools will be available on the counties' interscholastic sports websites:
