Another snow day completely wiped out Monday's small schedule of high school sports, including the Nassau girls gymnastics state qualifier.

That event, the only championship event on Monday's slate, has been rescheduled for Tuesday at Hicksville at 5 p.m., according to Section VIII (Nassau) executive director Nina Van Erk, who noted that Monday's other events also have been rescheduled.

That's the same scenario in Suffolk. "Fortunately, it was a light day and we'll be able to reschedule everything for [Tuesday]," said Ed Cinelli, executive director of Section XI (Suffolk) sports, who noted there were no championship or playoff events on the schedule.

In the CHSAA, snow postponed Monday's quarterfinals of the boys bowling league championships and the entire playoff format was pushed back one day, according to St. John the Baptist athletic director Ralph Dalton. The quarterfinals have been rescheduled for Tuesday, practice is Wednesday, the semifinals are Thursday and the finals are Friday.
