Catherine Havens pitched a five-inning no-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts in leading Eastport-South Manor over Harborfields, 13-0, in League V softball. The walk came in the fourth inning of what was the junior's third no-hitter this season. Chelsea Kull went 4-for-5 with four RBIs to lead the Sharks offense.

Hauppauge’s undefeated run in Class A has come to an end. Catherine Havens struck out eight in a two-hitter to lead Eastport-South Manor (12-3) over Hauppauge (13-1) in League V. Chelsea Kull drove in Havens with a two-out single in the top of the fifth (hat tip to Newsday’s Mark Macyk for the info).

Well that was a long time wasn’t it? But the nine-month wait is over and we’re back with softball in Suffolk. The previews should be hitting the newsstands in a few weeks, but I thought I would post the changes (so far) made to the 2010 softball landscape with a few thoughts.
