1. ST. ANTHONY'S GIRLS LACROSSE

The Friars have opened the season with three statement victories, dominating St. John the Baptist in a rematch of the CHSAA final, and edging nationally-ranked Georgetown Visitation (No. 4) and Vero Beach (No. 7). Kasey Behr scored three goals in an 11-9 comeback win over Vero Beach.

2. SMITHTOWN WEST BOYS LACROSSE

The Bulls defeated a tough Sachem North behind Sean Adler's three goals. Ryan Keenan is Long Island's leading scorer with 51 points and the team's stingy defensive unit has allowed only 18 goals in the last four games.

3. CHAMINADE BOYS LACROSSE

The Flyers' midfield of Sean Cerrone, Sam Bonafede and Tom O'Connell is one of the best on Long Island. The defense has not allowed more than six goals in a game this season. They get a boost when playmaker Carney Mahon returns at midfield from an injury.

4. MANHASSET GIRLS LACROSSE

The Indians continued to roll, despite a spate of injuries. Lindsey Ronbeck scored a career-high seven goals as Manhasset beat 19th-ranked Good Counsel (Md.), 14-12. Emily Koufakis had three goals and an assist in their 14-8 win over Massapequa. The Indians face Notre Dame Prep (Md.) on Thursday.

5. EAST MEADOW SOFTBALL

In three games this week, Kerri Shapiro tossed 17 innings, allowed just three hits and struck out 38 batters. Claire Travis and Ashley Vecchione and Tianna LaRosa each homered this week for the defending Long Island champions.

6. MACARTHUR BASEBALL

Reigning Diamond Award winner Adam Heidenfelder has proved impossible to beat so far. His four wins are tops in Long Island, he has 23 strikeouts in the last three games and hasn't allowed a run yet this season. The Generals, meanwhile, remain one of only two undefeated teams in Nassau.

7. CHAMINADE BOYS TRACK

Nicholas Joesten won the 400-meter hurdles in 57.5 seconds at the Paul Limmer Invitational. Gunnar Nolan and Michael Raver finished first and second, respectively, in the 800.

8. CONNETQUOT SOFTBALL

Lizzie Frayler had a pair of go-ahead hits, one in a 7-5 win over Commack and the other in a 2-1 win over Sachem North, as the 8-0 Thunderbirds are the lone unbeaten team in League I.

9. HALF HOLLOW HILLS WEST BASEBALL

A well-balanced offense, bolstered by one of the most intimidating rotations on Long Island with Aaron Glickstein, Tom DiGiorgi and Jon Faraci have made Hills a dominant force in Suffolk.

10. GARDEN CITY MAROON GIRLS GOLF

Garden City Maroon improved to 3-0 with a 9-0 win over Hicksville. Senior Sam Sessa shot a three-over 39 on the front-nine of Eisenhower White to lead the way.
