Meet the 2012 All-Long Island girls volleyball team, as selected by Newsday's Ian Cutler, in alphabetical order.

EMILY ASTARITA
Ward Melville, Sr. Led Ward Melville to an undefeated season and the LI Class AA championship. The outside hitter also set two school records with outstanding numbers — 404 kills, .786 hitting percentage — and will play for Dartmouth next fall.

Ward Melville, Sr.
Bendy was a force at the net, using her 6-3 frame to lead the Patriots with 57 blocks. The middle hitter finished the season with 187 kills and added 27 aces.

Lindenhurst, Sr.
Clemens changed positions for an inexperienced Lindenhurst team this season, yet still led the Bulldogs to a League II title with a 15-3 record and an appearance in the Class AA county championship match.

St. Anthony's, Jr.
Forster, an outside hitter, was St. Anthony’s go-to player, averaging 12 kills per match. She led the Friars to an undefeated regular season and a league title.

AMANDA GANNON Kings Park, So. The outside hitter

Kings Park, So.
The outside hitter was essential in leading Kings Park to its second consecutive LI Class A championship. She recorded 286 kills on a .299 hitting percentage, and 62 aces.

ALLISON GLASS South Side, Sr. Glass stepped up

South Side, Sr.
Glass stepped up when South Side lost two of its starters to season-ending injuries early in the season, and led the Cyclones to a Class A county championship to earn All-State honors.

JACKIE MALUSA Glenn, Sr. Malusa led Glenn to

JACKIE MALUSA Glenn, Sr.
Malusa led Glenn to its second straight state championship, 12th straight LI championship, and an undefeated season, and was named MVP of the Class B state tournament. Will play for Canisius next fall.

RACHEL RAMIREZ Lindenhurst, Sr. Ramirez was a threat

RACHEL RAMIREZ
Lindenhurst, Sr. Ramirez was a threat on the outside for Lindenhurst, making offensive and defensive contributions all season. In a Suffolk AA semifinal against Smithtown East, she recorded 27 digs and 21 kills.

KARLY WHITE Bay Shore, Sr. With a vertical

KARLY WHITE
Bay Shore, Sr. With a vertical leap that consistently breaks 30 inches, she recorded more than 100 solo blocks this season and led Bay Shore to the Suffolk playoffs with a second-place finish in League II. She will play for Iona next fall.

NASSAU PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Massapequa, Sr.
The outside hitter earned Nassau player of the year for the second straight season, capping her four years on varsity with Massapequa’s 13th straight Class AA county championship. She helped the Chiefs dominate Nassau Class AA again this season.
