Gannon was the story of the day, according to assistant coach Ed Manly, especially in the second game. Kings Park had an 8-3 advantage on the strength of four Gannon kills. From that point on South Side never got within five points of Kings Park.

In the third game South Side was within 14-12 when Kings Park took off on a 6-0 run punctuated by a Kat Benson kill. After that "they never got close," Manly said. Gannon had the final kill for the championship point.

Kings Park advances to the state championship at 3 p.m. Saturday at Glens Falls Civic Center.

There they will play Pittsford Sutherland, Burnt Hills, and Walter Panas.
