Jamel Hudson, the 132-pound senior from St. Anthony's, sees himself as a much more than a wrestler. He fashions himself a throwback, a singer and dancer reminiscent of Sammy Davis Jr.

Glenn remains the top team in our Big 10 (ahead of the Half Hollow Hills boys basketball team for the seventh straight week) after it crowned its first state champion — 130-pounder Nick Meinsen (pictured) — at the Times Union Center in Albany on Saturday. As expected, Mike Soria of Kings Park forfeited to brother Max in the 103-pound consolation semifinal.
Max took third place in the weight class after he defeated Asher Kramer of Suffern for the second time this weekend, 6-0, while Mike (pictured), last year's 96-pound state champ, finished fifth with an 11-3 win over Chris Brienza of St. Anthony's.

Day 2 has started off with a bang.
At 96 pounds, Mark West of Hauppauge, the Suffolk champ, narrowly edged Nassau champ Mark Raghunandan of Long Beach, 7-2.
Then at 103, it was the Soria brothers' turn. Mike Soria (pictured) won his wrestleback 6-0 of Fox Lane's Sam Speno. But in the semifinals, Max was pinned by Wayne's Al Dierna.

Jimmy Morris, the 112-pound member of St. Anthony's Triple Threat (which consists of All State wrestlers Chris Brienza, Morris and Grant Greene in consecutive weight classes), is out of the tournament before he's even wrestled.
