We are back for Day 2 of the State Tournament, another loooooonnnng day of wrestling, starting with the semis at 10 a.m. and the finals, which begin at 6 p.m.

This year, Uniondale is Long Island’s “Heavyweight Factory” Dante Salkey (285) and Andrew Cole (220) each won county titles, while Davion Porter (195) dropped a 4-2 decision to Rob Zorn of Sewanhaka East. Cole, the top seed entering the tourney, has yet to lose a match this season at 220. 99-- Jose Rodriguez just keeps on rolling, taking a 17-0 technical fall over Plainedge's Hector Guerrero to advance to the final. Rodriguez is now 40-0. He will face Long Beach's Steven Sewkumar, who beat Westbury's Raeco Jackson, in the final.
