Nick D'Agostino leads Syosset's comeback wrestling win

Nick D'Agostino scored a two-point decision over James Fernandez at 152 pounds as Syosset overcame an eight-point deficit for a 39-35 win over Bethpage Wednesday in non-league wrestling.

D'Agostino's 7-5 win cut Bethpage's lead to 23-18. Joe Scholl (182) defeated Charles Bachmeier, 3-1, igniting a three-match win streak for the Braves.

John Diaz (220) pinned Cain Mack in 1:43 to seal the match for Syosset.

Jericho 62, Oyster Bay 21: Evan Lloyd (145) scored a late reversal to defeat James Mon, 5-4, in overtime to lead Jericho in non-league.

Island Trees 40, Division 30: Brandon Cassar defeated Tim Schweitzer, 7-3, at 182 pounds to lead Island Trees in non-league.


Chaminade 78, South Side 66: Thomas Ahern (11 points) hit three three-pointers during a 25-14 second quarter for Chaminade in non-league. Jon Patterson had 17 points and Mike Walsh 10 points and eight rebounds in the win.

Glenn 62, Wyandanch 60: Jeff Park scored 10 of his 11 points in the fourth quarter for Glenn in non-league. Darryl Daniels had 20 points and eight rebounds and Kenny Rosenbach chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds.Northport 71, Commack 57: Luke Petrasek had a career-high 35 points and 19 rebounds to lead Northport in non-league. Matt Smith had 11 points, 10 assists and five rebounds and Thomas Kennedy added seven points and seven rebounds in the win.

Riverhead 51, Newfield 42: Markim Austin scored 14 of his 16 points during a 30-21 second half to lift Riverhead in non-league. Brandon Tolliver added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Lawrence Woodmere Academy 80, Columbia Prep 59: Rokas Lapsys had 33 points and 16 rebounds and Tristan Braverman added 20 points to lead LWA (6-0) in non-league.

Uniondale 63, Division 45: Jayda Hyatt had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Uniondale in non-league. Aliyah McDonald added 21 points and seven assists in the win.

Sachem East 59, Southampton 47: Katie Doherty had 21 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals for East in non-league. Sammy Drake had 12 rebounds.

Portledge 38, Friends Academy 34: Tamara Simpson scored nine of her 19 points in a 14-11 fourth quarter for Portledge in non-league.BOYS BOWLING
