Only three wrestlers from Long Island Catholic schools have won the ultimate title -- the NYSPHSAA championship. Only five of 449 qualifiers from Catholic schools over 25 years have reached the pinnacle of high school wrestling.

The first from Long Island to etch his name in state history was Robert Murphy of Chaminade in 1986. Then there was a pair of wrestlers from St. Anthony's, Lucas Magnani...
