School: Sachem.
Athletics: Football (fall), basketball (winter).
Statistics: Hennessy has completed 133 passes in his career, ranking him No. 1 at Sachem. He is No. 2 in attempts (241), yards (1,585) and touchdowns (11). Hennessy received Academic All-Division I honors and was nominated for the New York Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete award this season. The captain placed fifth in the NFL High School Quarterback challenge at Hofstra last summer. In basketball, he averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds last season at small forward. He made 24 three-pointers.
Quotable: "Academics and athletics go hand in hand. It maintains discipline and transfers over between academics. I try to be a positive leader on and off the field. I am a vocal leader and I try to lead by example."
Interests: Hennessy likes to play PlayStation 2, mainly Madden 2004, in his free time. He enjoys going to the movies and the beach with his friends.
Next Competition: Basketball season opens at home against Hauppauge on Dec. 6.
Academics: Hennessy has a 106 weighted GPA and scored 1,260 on the SAT. He has taken AP chemistry and history, and will take AP economics this year. Hennessy was given the Sachem Principal's Award for his accomplishments in academics.
From His Coach: "He is the type of kid you would like to have as your son," football coach David Falco said. "He doesn't have any faults as a player and a student-athlete. I hope there is a lot more Brian Hennessys coming to Sachem." Basketball coach Dom Savino said: "He is a fantastic person. He is very versatile and has a great outside shot. His attitude is whatever you need him to do, he'll do. He is an extremely heady player."
Ambition: Hennessy is considering Fordham, Hofstra, Williams and Stony Brook University. He plans to study business management and play football.
