CHRISTINA BUTTLE
Northport, Defender, Senior
Buttle racing downfield, her stick fully extended, after gaining control of the ball was an impressive, and frequent, sight. No offense can score without the ball and Buttle helped jumpstart many a Northport fast break. Buttle will play at Penn State.
JILL BYERS
Northport, Attack, Junior
Northport coach Carol Rose said before the season she hoped for 65-70 goals from Byers. She got 114 along with 44 assists and that was before the Tigers played in their state semifinal game last weekend. Byers started slow, three goals in a surprising first game loss to Ward Melville, but then recorded back to back nine-goal games. It sparked Byers to one of the best girls lacrosse seasons in Long Island history and made her one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation.
QUINN CAMMAROTA
Northport, Attack, Senior
The Northwestern-bound Cammarota emerged as a perfect compliment (52 goals, 35 assists) to the high-powered duo of Jill Byers and Emily Lawrence. She came through in some of Northport's biggest games. She scored six goals as Northport handed Huntington its first division loss and scored four against Farmingdale in the Long Island Large Schools championship game.
LAUREN COHEN
Farmingdale, Midfielder, Senior
The rugged Cohen had 53 goals and 13 assists this season but more impressively, went 36-0 her last three seasons in Nassau Conference I. Cohen, a four-time All-Nassau pick, has been a member of the last three Empire State girls lacrosse teams. Cohen will play at Maryland.
