2007-08 All-Long Island Boys Track

A look at Long Island's best boys track athletes from the 2007-08 season.

Long Island Runner of the Year
Half Hollow Hills West, Sr.

Merber followed up a great cross-country season with an even better indoor season. The Columbia-bound runner won the Millrose Mile and set the Suffolk County record in the mile with a time of 4:12.42. He was the state indoor champion in the 1,600 and took first in the mile run at the Nike Indoor Nationals in 4:16.47. He also won the Mile at the Hispanic Games.

Dennis Scruggs
Bellport, Sr.
Scruggs, who captured the state title in the 600, also set the Suffolk County record in the race with a time of 1:20.23. He won the 400 at the Hispanic Games and took first in the 600 at the Bishop Loughlin games.

Chris Parker
Mepham, Sr.
The Maryland-bound runner was the Nassau County champ in the 55-meter dash and the 55-meter hurdles and won the 55 dash and hurdles at the first Friendship games.

Terrance Livingston
Great Neck South, Jr.
Livingston became the first male athlete in more than 25 years to double in the 1,000 and the 600 at the Nassau County championships, and took second in the 600 at the state championships.

Michael Schieck
Chaminade, Sr.
He was the state champion in the 1,000-meter run, the CHSAA Intersectional 1,000-meter champ and took second in the 1,000 at the Stanner games.

Barry Franklin
Longwood, Sr.
Took first in the 3,200 and the 1,600 at the Suffolk Large School championships and took first in the 1,600 in the Suffolk League I championship.

Kevon Carter
Valley Stream Central, Sr.
He was the Nassau County champ in the 3,200 and took first in the 1,000 at the Nassau County coach's meet,

Louis Day
Holy Trinity, Sr.
Day, the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA shot put champion, also finished second in the event at the state championships and second at the CHSAA Intersectional championships.
