WRESTLER OF THE YEAR:
Stephen Bonanno
Wantagh, senior, 119 pounds
Season: 43-0
Career: 140-32
Concluded his high-school career in grand fashion with a double-overtime win over Cody Ruggirello of Valley Central (IX) in the state final. He takes with him to Brown a high school resume that includes one state and two Nassau crowns.
Nick Arujau
Syosset, sophomore, 112 pounds
Season: 44-0
Career: 101-7
Capped a perfect season with an 8-2 victory over Justis Flamio of Mahopac (Section I) in the state final. He is a two-time state placewinner and a two-time Nassau champion.
Joe Booth
Lutheran, senior, 152 pounds
Season: 47-0
Career: 184-12
The four-time state private school champion and three-time prep national placewinner who will wrestle at Drexel next year was crowned the national prep school champion this season.
Ken Collado
Hauppauge, sophomore, 103 pounds
Season: 38-4
