2007 All-Long Island Girls Tennis

A look at Long Island's best girls tennis players from the 2007 season.

KRISTIN NORTON
Port Washington, Sr.

Norton went 17-0 this season and helped Port Washington capture its first Long Island title. Norton won the USTA 18- and-under Labor Day National Championship at Oceanside and placed second in the National Open in Latham, NY, in late November.

AMANDA HALSTROMM
Bellmore JFK, Jr.

Halstromm became the first girls tennis player to win the Nassau county singles title and compete for a state championship, where she placed sixth. Halstromm finished 19-5 during the season and led Bellmore to its first county semifinal appearance.

KRISTIN ALOTTA
West Islip, Sr.

Alotta relied on her quickness and toughness to go 26-1 during the season en route to winning the Suffolk singles title and finishing fourth in the states. Alotta will play for Williams College next year.

RYANN CUTILLO
Kings Park, Sr.

Cutillo, the Long Island Player of the Year, went 11-0 for Kings Park this season. During her six-year varsity career, she went 65-0 in league play, 21-2 in divisional play, 16-1 in the county tournament and 14-3 in the state tournament. She will play for Wake Forest next year.

DOUBLES

JENNIFER KELLNER
HAUPPAGUE, Soph.

KATHERINE HANSON, Sr.

Kellner and Hanson won the Suffolk county doubles title and the state doubles championship. During the season the duo went 14-0. Together they combined for 38 wins in singles matches.

KELSEY RAYNOR
GARDEN CITY, Jr.

JACQUELINE RAYNOR, Fr.

Kelsey and Jacqueline finished second in the state doubles championship after losing to eventual champs, Hauppauge's Jennifer Kellner and Katherine Hanson. Kelsey went 11-1 in singles and Jacqueline went 10-2 in singles during the season.

MEG TYNER
JERICHO, Sr.

MICHELLE STRACAR, Sr.

Tyner and Stracar went 9-1 during the season, captured the Nassau county doubles title and placed third in the state doubles championship for Jericho. Tyner, who will play for George Washington next year, went 15-0 in singles. Stracar, who will play at Michigan, went 9-5 in singles.
