Gordon sees Tavares as offensive sparkplug
For the first time in franchise history, the Islanders did not have a single 20-goal scorer last season. Rookie Kyle Okposo led them with 18 goals.
Their leading goal-scorer next season might be another rookie, but if No. 1 draft pick John Tavares comes as advertised, reaching the 20-goal plateau shouldn't be a problem.
No one is happier about adding Tavares than coach Scott Gordon....
