Injuries give Islanders rookies a chance
It's just a coincidence that tonight is "Medical Heroes Night" at Nassau Coliseum.
Fifty-two games into the season, the Islanders have lost 336 man-games to injury (according to the team's calculations), and the plague of physical discomfort goes on, with the team's only All-Star, Mark Streit, about to miss his third straight game with what is described as an upper-body sprain.
