Isles snap a three-game losing streak with Frans Nielsen's breakaway backhander 24 seconds into overtime.

Nielsen certainly excels in that area, and Gordon said he knew it was in as soon as he saw the number 51. Great pass by Blake Comeau to spring Nielsen. Beyond the assist on the game-winner, Comeau had a very good game and showed why he is one of the team leaders in terms of physical play.

Dwayne Roloson was great once again and held the Islanders in the game despite being outshot 17-3 by the Bruins.

"Outstanding, as always," Nielsen said of the veteran goaltender.

Rob Schremp scored his first NHL goal and what followed was among one of the most memorable celebrations this year.

"That one was from juniors," Schremp joked. "That was fun. I was excited. It was just nice to see the goal get past the line."

Not the prettiest win for the Islanders by any stretch ,but they found a way to beat a strong Boston team to begin a well-deserved home stretch after spending 14 of 17 games on the road.

"I had to punch it into my GPS just to find my way to the rink, but it's nice to get back and play here" Roloson joked. "Anytime you get a win at home it's big."
