More DiPietro, and tonight's game
I'm told that Vancouver is streaming the game live through their website, which should be the icing on the cake, but the good news for Isles fans today--regardless of whether someone scores a hat trick in Terrace tonight--certainly has to be the most recent development with franchise goaltender Rick DiPietro.
The fact that DiPietro is now facing shots in practice is a significant step in his rehab process, and should be very encouraging. It by no means indicates he's knocking on the door and ready to play, but it is definitely progress.
And to any of you who thinks it is bizarre that he is practicing at another rink, I understand your skepticism. It is not, however, a clandestine move to keep him shielded from prying eyes. It's simply because of logistical constraints...this way he's not clogging up the other goalies' ice time or instruction, nor is he forced to practice at the crack of dawn or late in the day (there is only one rink at the Credit Union Centre available for use).
Will try to blog a bit after the game if I can get it working!
