Nabokov in net, same lineup for Isles vs. Ottawa
That means Brian Rolston and Dylan Reese are the healthy scratches. Evgeni Nabokov makes his first start since a 3-0 loss to the Leafs on Jan. 23, though he only backed up twice in that span due to the All-Star break. Nabokov started 15 of the previous 16 games.
Craig Anderson makes his 16th consecutive start in goal for the Senators. Jason Spezza didn't skate this morning, but coach Paul MacLean told reporters Spezza would play tonight.
Ottawa has lost four straight after going on a 10-1-1 tear; they're still in sixth in the East, but now only four points up on ninth-place Washington and the Sens have played three more games.
The Islanders will roll their same lines and D pairs as in the 5-2 win over the Hurricanes. As far as the standings go, perhaps the words of Steve Staios apply. He said earlier this week that "sometimes it's best not to look at the standings. You can get a little overwhelmed. You just have to think about the next game and how you can win it."
The Isles were off for two days; in that time, they fell to 11 points out of eighth and back into a three-way tie for 13th.
