John Tavares, who was the MVP of last year's World Junior Hockey Championship, is making good on a bet with teammate Doug Weight over this year's tournament.

Loser had to ear opposing team's jersey to practice.

Because the US took home Gold with their 6-5 overtime win over Canada, Tavares will be practicing with a  Team USA jersey in front of the crowd at Nassau Coliseum here today for the Lighthouse Jamboree and open practice.

Doug Weight did not skate this morning, but made sure to stick around for Tavares' grand entrance, razzing him and snapping photos on his phone to set as his screen-saver.

Also looks like Rick DiPietro got the morning off after his first win of the season last night, when the Isles topped the Sabres 3-2 in an eight-round shootout.
